The security deposit must be made exclusively via credit or debit card belonging to the Visa, Mastercard, or American Express networks. Prepaid cards or cash are not accepted for the deposit.

No, the security deposit is not a charge but a temporary hold on the credit card. This means the money is not withdrawn but simply reserved, so it does not appear in the transaction history. The difference will be visible only between the account balance and the available balance.

Once the vehicle is returned, after checking for damages and fuel level, the deposit is released. However, the release time depends on the international card network and is not managed by Tuscany by Car.

No, while payment can be made in cash, a credit card is always required and is a necessary condition to proceed with the vehicle rental.

We apply a "full-to-full" policy: the vehicle will be delivered with a full tank and must be returned in the same condition. Otherwise, a refueling charge, including a €30 administrative fee, will apply.

The pickup location is about 600 meters from Santa Maria Novella station and 700 meters from our office. The garage is outside the ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone), in a strategic position for easy access to the best destinations in Tuscany. This allows our customers to pick up and return the vehicle conveniently, avoiding potential fines from the numerous cameras in Florence’s historic center.

Yes, we offer a one-way rental option. However, an additional fee will apply depending on the distance and accessibility of the return location. Please specify this requirement at the time of booking or pickup.

If you enter a ZTL and are staying at a hotel in the historic center, we recommend contacting the hotel reception immediately. You have up to three hours to have your vehicle authorized by the hotel, thus avoiding possible fines. Please note that this procedure is only valid for guests of hotels in the historic center and does not apply to pedestrian areas, bus/taxi lanes, or emergency vehicle routes.

Yes, you can drive in other countries, but please inform us in advance. Some restrictions may apply depending on the destination country and vehicle category. An additional fee may be required for international insurance coverage.

All vehicles are covered by basic third-party liability insurance (RCA) with a deductible. You can purchase additional coverage to reduce the deductible for damages. However, our company does not offer zero-deductible insurance. For theft protection, a deductible of 10% of the vehicle's value applies, provided the keys are returned.

  • In case of an accident, contact our assistance number (on the rental contract) and take multiple photos to document the incident.

Yes, cancellations and modifications are possible. A 10% prepayment of the total rental fee is required at the time of booking. This prepayment is non-refundable. However, if the cancellation is made at least 15 days in advance, the prepayment can be used for a new booking within one year. For cancellations made within two days before pickup, 50% of the total amount will be charged, increasing to 80% for cancellations made the day before pickup. Cancellations on the pickup day and no-shows will be charged in full.
